Steven started his varied and interesting career in railway signalling and progressed to IT management over his 17 year employment with Transnet in South Africa. He then spent a number of years in different industries further developing his passion for customer service. In 2002 he joined Sangari South Africa as Business Development Manager, where he was involved in the development and marketing of many products and services in the education industry. One of which is the "F1 in Schools CAD CAM Challenge", a worldwide project which exposes young people to the world of science and technology in an exciting and innovative way. He moved to the UK from South Africa in 2009 and joined Aunir as Business Development Manager.

Chris started his academic life in 1968 at the University of Reading, in the Department of Agriculture. Whilst employed there he was exposed to many aspects of agricultural analysis and involved in extensive training of technicians both in the UK and overseas. He joined Technicon Instruments in 1978 as an application specialist, employed to generate calibrations for NIR instrumentation which was an emerging technology at that time. Whilst at Technicon he helped many industries implement NIR, generating applications for agriculture, food, beverages, snack foods, dairy, pharmaceuticals, chemical, flour milling and confectionary. In 2003 he joined Aunir as a Technical Services Manager where he helps the supply and support of NIR calibrations worldwide.

Chris Piotrowski

Chris Piotrowski has worked in the business since 1978. His early years were spent gaining knowledge and skills as an analytical chemist. By the late 80’s he was tasked with introducing an NIR network into the 10 feed mills of J Bibby & Sons. Following this successful implementation he returned to running both the analytical and NIR divisions of Central Laboratories. In 1995 Central Laboratories was set up as a commercial laboratory serving the food and feed industries. The laboratory grew rapidly covering a diverse range of techniques, including analytical chemistry, microbiology and NIR spectroscopy. In 2008 the decision was made to sell the analytical division of Central Laboratories allowing Chris and the team to focus on the core activity of NIR under the new name of Aunir.

Simon Flanagan

Simon completed his Masters Degree in Chemistry in 2004 and worked as an Analytical Chemist before joining the Aunir team in 2006. At Aunir, Simon is responsible for the development of unique, customer-driven NIR solutions as well as providing technical support for customers around the world. Simon has extensive experience of delivering web-based services to our clients.

Rocio Garcia

Before joining Aunir in October 2009. Rocio completed a BSc in Chemistry at the University in Seville in southern Spain. Her areas of experience are related to food analysis and technology, biochemistry of food, oenology (wine chemistry) and agricultural chemistry.

Whilst still at university, Rocio worked as a Quality Control apprentice for the prestigious winery company 'Osborne', and also for a baking company testing flour, wheat and dough.

Most of Rocio's NIR knowledge has been gained under the guidance of Chris Woodley but this has been compounded by training in chemometrics at CRA W (Belgium) and at the University of Cordoba (Spain). At Aunir, Rocio is responsible for the correct and efficient application of NIR products and services to customers around the globe.

Dean Vincent

Dean joined Aunir in May 2011 having completed an IT apprenticeship. At Aunir, Dean is responsible for the day-to-day management of customer samples coming into the office, the preparation of these samples ahead of scanning them on the wide range of equipment in the Aunir office. Dean ensures that customer requests are dealt with efficiently and consistently monitors the numerous samples on their journey through the NIR process.

Trevor Theobald

Trevor joined Aunir as Commercial Director from our parent company, AB Agri where he was responsible for the delivery of acquisitions and divestments. With a technical background comprising of a degree and PhD in the chemical and biological sciences, Trevor worked in R&D for a number of major international companies before completing an MBA and focusing on business development.

Trevor is not a newcomer to Aunir as he has previously worked with the team supporting them both on a strategic and a commercial level, helping to commercialise the valuable IP that rests in the business.
