Aunir - NIR Near Infra Red Calibration Specialists

What is NIR?

Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR) is a technique that can be used to identify molecules by analysis of their constituent bonds. When irradiated with energy each chemical bond in a molecule vibrates at a frequency which is characteristic of that bond. These vibrations can be accurately related to nutritional, chemical and physical properties. NIR is a proven technique for the rapid multi-component analysis of bulk materials with little or no sample preparation. Further benefits of this technique are that it does not require any hazardous chemicals and is non destructive to the sample being analysed. In addition once calibrated the NIR spectrometer is easy to operate by non-technical staff.
